Description du projet

The Futsal National Teams culminated a profitable series of three blank matches against Venezuela, which is a strong South American team in this sport and has even qualified for the next World Cup.

The third and final match was played at the Scotiabank Arena, within the Fedef Fútbol-Plycem Sports Complex, on Friday night. La Vinotinto won with a score of 2-0, thanks to a double from Henry Gutiérrez.

The first goal fell just in the opening minutes, after a sudden counterattack that the Costa Rican defense could not neutralize.

From there, the Tricolor deployed all its offensive game, before the strict marking of the Venezuelans, who gave up the initiative to protect the scoreboard.

In the second half, another oversight by the Tico team allowed visiting player Henry Gutiérrez to get the final 2-0.

Costa Rica is getting ready for the Concacaf World Cup, which will be held in Guatemala the first week of May.

The team led by Carlos Quirós has more international matches planned to reach 100% in its mission to find a ticket to the World Cup in Lithuania.

After the last match against Venezuela, Quirós stressed the importance of playing hard against a rival of such high carats.

“We are growing. They are markers that we do not like because nobody likes to lose, but this is work and intensity. Nobody in Concacaf has this level (of Venezuelans) so these are very important games, « said the coach with a battered voice after shouting instructions throughout the engagement.

« There is a little more than a month left for the World Cup, there is plenty of time because we must fine-tune adjustments. For some guys this was the first international experience, so we are on the right track ”, added Quirós.
