Both qualified for the next CAN (January 9-February 6, 2022) but absent from the group stage of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, Comoros and Sierra Leone faced each other this Saturday in a friendly match in Sapanca in Turkey in order to continue their preperation.

The duel turned to the advantage of the Coelacanths, who won 2-0 thanks to a brace from the inevitable Ben Mohamed El Fardou (34th, 89th), forward for Red Star Belgrade.

At CAN, the Comorians will play in a group C raised with Morocco, Ghana and Gabon, while Sierra Leone will also have a lot to do in Group E against Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire and Equatorial Guinea.
